I downloaded a fresh install of Oblivion from Steam. I am trying to get set up with a bare-bones LO and only using... UOP, UOMP, USIP and OBSE. Alas, it crashes on start up.
I have ensured that all of the latest versions of tools and mods are implemented.
I adjusted the Workaround in MO to connect to Steam and set the Load Mechanism to Script Extender.
I have ensured that OBSE is running from the extra savefile.
I have cleaned all of the DLCs with TES4Edit.
If the Unofficial Patches are disabled and only running OBSE, It will launch through the Steam executable but it will crash on exit. I narrowed it down to two DLCs. Knights and Battlehorn Castle. If either "cleaned" esp is active, it will crash on exit. It works fine if the "dirty" files are used.
The cleaning was conducted using a technique showcased on GamerPoets. It creates a mod from the Overwight Folder and keeps the original dirty esp in the pristine Oblivion file structure.
