Kesta
Or, if all options from the MCM are relying on a global variable, you could also set their default value to something else (a STEP recommanded value) by adjusting this global variable in the STEP patch. TechAngel85
Yeah, we've neglected the MCM settings for a while. There are quite a few mods we need to have recommendations for.
TechAngel85
I've removed some mods that users tagged for testing that were very unlikely to make the cut if added to official testing. I made these decisions based on mod content and user feedback in the topics.

EDIT: Wait, I'm seeing it without a testing tag in one place and without it in another. Weird.
TechAngel85
Yeah, didn't touch that one.
EssArrBee
Just saw this for disabling the tutorial when starting a new game: [Interface] bShowTutorials=0 I think we should add for sure. Game is almost 4 years old, no one needs that blasted tutorial.
DoubleYou
Could you add that to the INI guide please?
EssArrBee
Could you add that to the INI guide please? It's already there. https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Skyrim_INI/Interface#bShowTutorials I just think we should recommend turning the damned thing off. DoubleYou
Well, the setting is there, but it doesn't indicate what it does. Are you saying that it disable the tutorial popups? If so, we should add it.
EssArrBee
Yeah, I think that is what it does. Like those annoying ones when your health/magika/stamina get low for the first time. They all pause the game, sot it's super annoying. I haven't tested it out yet, but that isn't exactly something that people would lie about. rootsrat
Hi, just FYI since I'e moved to Windows 10 and reformatted and rearranged all my drives and storage I'll be installing Skyrim anew using STEP 2.2.9.1 and I'll be able to help with some 2.2.9.2 mod testing if need be. I'll let you know when I'm done, I still have some stuff to sort out in my OS before I'll start installing mods, but it will be soon.
Marlen
hey, I suggest to add "MCM icon" right to mods that MCM settings needs to be changed.
echo451
[Interface]bShowTutorials=0 I did a quick test. This gets rid of the annoying popups messages whenever you go to do something for the first time. eg. Use any crafting table. Open your journal or map etc. This is a nice find.
DoubleYou
Finally tested that little setting, and it is useful. I've added it to our recommended changes.
Gustappo
Hello!I am not sure wether i should ask this on this topic but why is the bMouseAcceleration=0 tweak removed from the ini editing section? I know the tweak was covered in previous versions of the guide (STEP:2.2.7 for instance).https://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.7Thanks in advance!
